Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) Profile at Different Calcination Conditions for Synthesis of PTES-SBA-15

Abstract: The aim of this work is to study the effects of calcination condition on the properties of mesoporous silica, SBA-15 modified with phenyl group of organosilane. Functional group SBA-15 were synthesized and hydrothermally aged. The surfactant template was conventionally removed by calcination at varied temperature and duration. Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) was employed to characterize the pure and modified SBA-15. The TGA profile presented here would include modified SBA-15 functionalized using two differen… Show more

“…El analizador consta de una microbalanza precisa conectada a una bandeja de muestras dentro de un horno que contiene un programador y medidor de temperatura: termobalanza. La temperatura incrementa a una velocidad constante para la formación de una reacción térmica que se desarrolla por diferentes tipos de atmósferas (aire ambiente, vacío, gas inerte, gases oxidantes-reductores, gases corrosivos o carburantes, vapores de líquidos), y diferentes presiones (alto vacío, alta presión, presión constante o presión controlada) [40].…”

“…The TGA profile in Figure 2f shows a 20% decrease in weight up to the temperature of 100°C, attributed to the removal of free moisture content. Further heating up to 800 °C does not significantly decrease the mass of Fe/DS-HMS-NH2, suggesting that the catalyst is stable at high temperatures [29]. Therefore, our Fe/DS-HMS-NH2 can be considered as a promising heterogeneous catalyst for the in-situ esterification/transesterification reaction.…”

“…9 shows the kinetics study of the four selected pollutants on MCM-41/APTES (the material that exhibited the maximum retention capacity), which is necessary to predict the equilibrium time that will be considered for further work. According to the figure, the shape of the curves presents two zones: from 0 to 50 min which reveals rapid adsorption and takes place at accessible sites on the surface and from 50 to 120 min, where the adsorbed quantities evolve more slowly, due to diffusion within the pores of the material, until reaching a plateau corresponding to equilibrium after 120 minutes [38,44,[48][49][50][51][52][53][54]. The adsorption process is best described by studying pseudo first and second order kinetic models [35].…”
