Thermohaline analysis of the La Perouse Strait water

Abstract: Sakhalinskii Shel'f information and analytical GIS based on observational data is used to simulate hydrological parameter values at standard horizons of stationary stations in the La Perouse Strait. The spatial and temporal distribution pattern for oceanographic parameters has been obtained. Water masses and water structures have been identified using classic T, S -analysis. Volumetric T, S -analysis of waters is used to evaluate the volumes, heat content, and salinity of the water masses chosen. For the first… Show more

“…They are in good agreement with the present-day concept of the general water circulation in Aniva Bay and confirm the conclusion that the general character of anticyclonic water circulation in the bay is disturbed only in winter [8]. However, substance transport through the bound- Vertical exchange in water areas…”

“…As was shown in [72], the Aniva Bay basin is occupied by a subarctic water mass. In the warm season, it is represented by a subsurface Sea of Okhotsk water mass of summer modification and the very Sea of Okhotsk water mass (SOWM).…”

“…However, these data provide only partial information on the HCh regime in Aniva Bay. The characteristics of Aniva Bay obtained from this application were used as input parameters for the modeling of hydrological, HCh parameters, and transformation of petroleum hydrocarbons in the bay [43,[69][70][71][72].…”

“…Выполненные исследования [Пищальник, Бобков, 2000; Pishchal'nik, Leonov, 2003;Pishchal'nik et al, 2005] показали, что океанологические процессы в заливе Анива имеют пространственную неоднородность. При районировании залива Анива выделены районы с близкими условиями по термохалинной структуре и циркуляция вод, а также особенности годового хода температуры воды в поверхностном слое на стандартных станциях и сезонный характер пространственного распределения планктонных организмов [Брагина, 2002].…”
