“…DSA-5000 from Anton Paar was used to measure the density and speeds of sound simultaneously and automatically, performance of which was checked by comparing density for the binary mixture of cyclohexane + benzene . The details of the apparatus and techniques used to determine ρ and u have already been described in our earlier publications. The estimated uncertainty for density was lower than ±0.05 kg m –3 , speeds of sound were lower than ±0.5 m s –1 , and temperature was lower than 0.05 K. The estimated uncertainty for excess molar volume was less than ±0.05 × 10 –6 m 3 mol –1 .…”

“…Our group is engaged in studying the thermophysical properties of ILs in their pure form and in combination of various organic solvents. This work is in continuation to our previous work dealing with the mixture of primary and secondary aryl amines with imidazolium-based ILs. , In the present work, we are discussing the molecular interactions between 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (alkyl = butyl, hexyl, and octyl) and cyclohexylamine (CyHxAm). The molecular interactions are studied using V m E , K s,m E , and Δ ϕ n D calculated through measuring the density, speeds of sound, and refractive index over the whole range of compositions and within the temperature range of 293.15–323.15 K and at atmospheric pressure.…”

“…The Prigogine–Flory–Patterson (PFP) theory has been commonly employed by many researchers to analyze the excess thermodynamic functions. ,, , PFP theory is instrumental in interpreting the excess function data for the mixtures having components of different shapes and sizes. H-bonding and strong electrostatic interactions are excluded while developing this theory that is purely an empirical application of the Flory theory.…”
