“…A similar effect was observed for polyaniline (PANI) or poly(N-methylaniline) in the PNIPAM-based macrosized hydrogels, [51,52] or in the PS@PNIPAM-PANI latexes. [20] However, the reversibility of the temperature transitions of the NC5 and NC7 ternary latexes is complicated by an appearance of the hysteresis in the nanoparticle size recovery under cooling. In particular, unlike the binary PS@PNIPAM latex, NC5 and NC7 show the hysteresis, which is slightly enhanced by increasing the PEDOT content in the PNIPAM shells (Figure 8b-d), which may be associated with some deceleration in relaxation of the intermolecular interactions between the PNIPAM and doped PEDOT units discussed above.…”
