Abstract:BACKGROUND: Thiamine deficiency is more common in critically ill patients. Administration of thiamine in cardiac arrest mice has improved survival and neurological outcomes. Evidence for thiamine deficiency in cardiac arrest humans is insufficient to support routine use of thiamine in cardiac arrest patients.
