Abstract:In this study, we modified thin-film composite (TFC) membranes by coating them with antimicrobial and photoactive lignin-derived carbon dots (CD) using polydopamine (PDA) chemistry. The CD solution was applied to the membrane surface at different concentrations (100, 300, 500, and 1000 μg/ mL) to create CD-100, CD-300, CD-500, and CD-1000 membranes. The CD-modified membranes were tested against Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis cells under three light conditions: darkness, simulated sunlight, and 365 nm u… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
