“…Figure 4 represents the SH intensity for the as-deposited films, as well as for the treated films. One can see in Figure 4 that the thermal treatment leads to a decrease of the SH signal probably due to the fact that for thin films, the surface morphology is a major parameter in the SHG capabilities, in conjuction with the film thickness and the material properties [29]. As a final aspect of the experiments regarding thin film preparation by MAPLE, we have decided to use untreated films for further LIFT experiments in order to have an optimum SH signal, as well as smother surfaces.…”
