“…Attempted desulfurization of (Me 2 AsS 2 ) x M (M = heavy metal cation) by Ph 3 P [or (MeO) 3 P] did not give the salts (Me 2 AsS) x M with the desired 33 thiolato ligand Me 2 As–S – ( 7 ) but Ph 3 P=S [or (MeO) 3 P=S] together with the metal sulfide M 2 S x and Me 2 As–S–AsMe 2 ( 6 ) due to the affinity of these cations to sulfur 7. Because Na + does not have such an affinity, we tried to desulfurize compound 3 with Ph 3 P in order to get Me 2 AsS – Na + ( 7· Na + ).…”

“…Most species with AsS 6 coordination show distinct primary and secondary bonding, with three short AsS distances and three longer, mutually trans AsS distances (Scheme a). For example: As(S 2 CO i Pr) 3 2.305/2.978 Å,35 As(S 2 P{OMe} 2 ) 3 2.315/3.031 Å,36 As(S 2 CN n Bu 2 ) 3 2.347/2.875 Å37 and As(S 2 C‐ p ‐tol) 3 2.317/2.969 Å 38. The only previously reported example of an essentially regular AsS 6 species occurs when two {Mo 3 (μ 3 ‐S)(μ 2 ‐S) 3 (OH 2 ) 9 } clusters “sandwich” an As 3+ ion, coordinating by means of the di‐bridging sulphides, giving AsS bond lengths in the narrow range 2.434–2.489 Å (Scheme b) 39.…”

“…To our knowledge, complexes of ACD with As(III) have not been reported in the literature. However, complexes that involve derivatives of ACD with As(III) have been demonstrated, but are only soluble in organic solvents [62,63]. Complexes of many other metal ions with ACD have been reported and their formation has been used for analytical purposes [55 -57, 64 -66].…”
