Third-grade non-Newtonian fluid flow and heat transfer in two coaxial pipes with a variable radius ratio with magnetic field

Abstract: Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the hydromagnetic third-grade non-Newtonian fluid flow and heat transfer between two coaxial pipes with a variable radius ratio. Design/methodology/approach To solve the approximate nonlinear and linear problems with variable coefficients, a trial function was applied. Methods include collocation, least square and Galerkin that can be applied for obtaining these coefficients. Findings It is revealed that an increase of the non-Newtonian parameter, Hartman… Show more

“…The process of heat transfer in fluid of third grade over a linear stretching sheet with partial slip condition is explored by Sahoo [4]. Jawanmard et al [5] encountered the heat transfer analysis of third-grade fluid in two coaxial pipes with aradius under the influence of magnetic field. Zhang et al [6] investigated the electro-magnetohydrodynamic third-grade fluid flow and heat transfer by using the Darcy-Brinkman-Forchheimer model.…”

“…Awaiset al [3] investigated the effect of varied characteristics on heat and mass transfer in bioconvective nanofluid with gyro-tactic microorganisms under the influence of a magnetic field. In [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11], third-grade fluid flow and heat transfer phenomena with diverse fluid features past different geometries were encountered. Sahoo [12] investigated the process of transferring heat to a third-degree liquid over a simple striped sheet with a slightly smoother texture.…”

“…3 One of its applications in material processing could be the control of fluid flow by the magnetic field. Researchers have been applied different approaches for solving MHD problems such as analytical methods, 2,4-6 numerical, 7,8 and experimental 9,10 methods. The first research on the divergent channel was done by Jeffrey 11 and Hamel.…”
