Three‐Component Synthesis of Thiazole‐2‐thione from Chalcone, Nitrobenzene and Carbon Disulfide

Abstract: A convenient protocol for the synthesis of thiazole‐2‐thiones from nitrobenzene, chalcones and carbon disulfide is described. The construction of one C‐S bond and two C‐N bonds via [3+2] cycloaddition reaction is achieved using NaOH as base in one pot. Various functional groups attached to substrates were well tolerated to afford the corresponding products in moderate to good yields.
