Three Cu(II) Complexes Based on Mixed Ligands: Their Structures and Catalytic Behaviour

Abstract: The Cu(II) complexes, [Cu(2,5-pydc)(bmi)(H 2 O)] n , [Cu 2 (H 2 O) 2 (2,6-pydc) 2 (btx)]·2H 2 O and [Cu(btc) 2 (bmi) 2 ]·1.5H 2 O, (bmi = 1-[(benzotriazol-yl)methyl)-1H-1,3-imidazole; 2,5-H 2 pydc = pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylic acid; btx = 1,4-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1ylmethyl)benzene; H 3 btc = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate) have been synthesised and their X-ray structures show that hydrogen bonds and π···π stacking interactions are employed in their construction. The complexes can effectively catalyse the oxidative cou… Show more

“…[1][2][3] Numerous coordination complexes with intriguing architectures and interesting properties have been constructed from these ligands. [4][5][6] The multidentate N-heterocyclic ligand 2-[(1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl]-6-methyl-1H-benzimidazole (immb) has three potential N-donor sites and a methylene group, which allows immb to have flexible conformations and adaptability, therefore it can lead to complexes with structural diversity. Up to now, six fascinating metal-organic complexes based on immb ligand have been obtained.…”

“…17 complexes and in a bridging mode in ten complexes (Duan et al, 2010a,b;Meng et al, 2009;Zhou et al, 2011;Wang & Sun, 2011;An et al, 2008;Hu et al, 2012;Huang et al, 2014;Zhang et al, 2015). In this work, the bmi ligands coordinate to the Zn II ion only via imidazole atom N1 in a monodentate mode, even though there are three potential N-atom donors in bmi.…”

“…In recent years, the application of MOFs as catalysts has gained a great number of research attentions, since MOFs are featured with following advantages: 1) the controllable oxidation state and electron density of metal center can be introducing different ligands, associating with selectivity coordinated geometry and catalytic behaviors (Lan et al, 2019;Wang et al, 2015). Therefore, we studied the catalytic behaviors of 1 and 2 with DBP clean oxidant H 2 O 2 as oxidant together with NaOCH 3 as co-catalyst in different solvents at a certain temperature (Hu et al, 2012;Kennemur et al, 2019). The standard reaction system of DBP selective catalytic substrate H 2 O 2 oxidation was selected in this work (Scheme S1, Supplementary Material).…”
