Abstract:We survey several results concerning the geometry and topology of threedimensional Alexandrov spaces with the aim of providing a panoramic and up-to-date view of the subject. In particular we present the classification of positively and nonnegatively curved spaces, the geometrization theorem, a discussion of known results for simply-connected and aspherical spaces, the equivariant and topological classifications of closed three-dimensional Alexandrov spaces with isometric compact Lie group actions, and recent … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
