Three-Dimensional Fast Fixed-time Convergence Guidance Law With Impact Angle Constraint

Abstract: In this paper, a three-dimensional (3D) impact-angle-control guidance law is proposed based on the approaches of nonsingular terminal sliding mode control and fixed-time convergence theory to intercept a maneuvering target. The guidance law is derived based on the coupled 3D engagement dynamics. To intercept the target with an expected impact angle, the nonsingular terminal sliding mode control is designed to ensure that the line-of-sight (LOS) angles and rates rapidly reach the desired values. Furthermore, th… Show more

“…Furthermore, the LOS angle constrained finite-time robust HP guidance problem can also be addressed based on the new nominal model. In many literature, angle constraints are usually transformed to be the LOS angle constraints, such as field-of-view constrained problems [17,18] and impact angle constrained problems [19][20][21][22][23][24]. Due to the axial symmetry property between the missile-based LOS coordinate system and the target-based LOS coordinate system, the LOS angle constraints for the interceptor missile can be easily transformed to be the constraints of the target's LOS angle.…”

“…Adaptive smooth fixed-time guidance law [19] was derived for intercepting maneuvering target based on fast stable system and nonsinguar terminal SMC (NTSMC) in planar homing engagement geometry. Fixedtime 3D guidance law was designed to intercept maneuvering target in the light of fast NTSM, saturation function and adaptive law [20]. By two-order consensus agreement and fixed-time SMC, distributed 3D cooperative guidance law [21] was presented to capture maneuvering target with desired impact angles.…”

“…On this basis, a fixed-time guidance law with impact angle constraints was presented in Gao and Cai (2017) to intercept the maneuvering target. Similarly, to handle the 3D guidance problem of intercepting the maneuvering target in the expected impact angle, a fast fixed-time convergence guidance law was proposed by Tian et al (2019).…”
