“…Several studies have measured mandibular growth in patients with CFM types I and IIA during adolescence using a combination of anteroposterior cephalograms, lateral cephalograms, and CBCT data. 8,14,15,18,19 These studies have conflicting results, with some 14,21,49 measuring the increasing cants of the mandible and the maxilla over time in the frontal plane, and others 8,15,18,19,22,50 reporting symmetric growth and no significant changes in facial proportions. Our findings favor the observations of symmetric condylar growth, and the preservation of mandibular proportions over time.…”
