Three-flavoured neutrino oscillations and the Leggett–Garg inequality

Abstract: Three flavoured neutrino oscillations are investigated in the light of the Leggett-Garg inequality. The outline of an experimental proposal is suggested whereby the findings of this investigation may be verified. The results obtained are: (a) The maximum violation of the Leggett Garg Inequality (LGI) is 2.17036 for neutrino path length L1 = 140.15 Km and ∆L = 1255.7 Km.(b) Presence of the mixing angle θ13 enhances the maximum violation of LGI by 4.6%.(c) The currently known mass hierarchy parameter α = 0.0305 … Show more

“…Before considering this, the quantumness of NOs should be adequately examined in advance. For this purpose, some works [27][28][29][30] have tested the quantumness of NOs by utilizing the Leggett-Garg inequality (LGI) treated as the temporal Bell inequality. It suggests that the classical limits can be violated with the LGI in experimentally observed NOs [31].…”

“…There could be many importantly potential applications in the domain of quantum information science. Motivated by this, various attempts have been made to explore the quantumness of neutrino system by means of flavor transition probabilities, including Leggett-Garg inequality [24,[30][31][32], Svetlichny inequalities [29], quantum discord [23], quantum entanglement [33], and quantum coherence [26]. Moreover, the quan-tum information theoretic tools are capable of addressing some intractable issues in neutrino oscillations, which are the distinct problem of the neutrinos nature between Dirac and Majorana fermions [34], and the mass-degeneracy problem [35].…”
