Three new and one previously described species of Bychowskyella Achmerow, 1952 were collected from

Eight new species of Hamatopeduncularia Yamaguti, 1953 (Monogenea: Ancyrocephalidae) from Ariidae of Peninsular Malaysia

“…maculatus, A. thalassinus, A. caelatus, A. venosus and O. militaris were caught in coastal and estuarine regions on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia (Sungai Sementa, Kuala Selangor and Matang, Perak). The monogeneans were collected and treated as in Lim (1991Lim ( , 1994. Here the term digit is used in preference topeduncle (see Yamaguti, 1953) to refer to the finger-like projections of the haptor.…”

Two new species of Anchylodiscus Johnston & Tiegs, 1922 (Monogenea) from Plotosus canius (Plotosidae)

“…Structurally this second vesicle is a blind sac similar to the blind seminal vesicles of the majority of freshwater ancylodiscoidines (see Lim, 1991). This blind diversion was not reported in any of the previous Anchylodiscus species (see Johnston & Tiegs, 1922;Murray, 1931;Young, 1968;Paperna, 1977), although Johnston & Tiegs (1922) described a slight dilatation just proximal to the reniform seminal vesicle in A. tandani.…”

“…The monogeneans on the dendritic organs were either dislodged by scraping or left in seawater to allow them to detach themselves. They were collected, studied live under a phase contrast microscope and preserved as described by Lim (1991). A fresh gill filament with monogeneans was dropped into neutral red solution to determine whether the alimentary caeca of the monogeneans end blindly or are united.…”
