We studied the resonance behavior of the NN system in the configuration J P ϭ0 Ϫ , isospin 0. We applied nonrelativistic Faddeev equations with realistic local potentials for the pion-nucleon and nucleon-nucleon interactions in the S 11 and 1 S 0 channels, respectively. A resonance was found in this specific state; it lies slightly above the NN threshold and has a mass of 2018 MeV and a width of 1.75 MeV.
