Thrombolytic therapy for the treatment of acute ischaemic stroke in adults with homozygous sickle cell disease

Abstract: Stroke is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with homozygous sickle cell disease (SCD). A specific large-vessel vasculopathy is often responsible for both haemorrhagic and ischaemic strokes in patients with SCD.
