Abstract:Surgical diseases of the thymus are rare in childhood. Although thymic hyperplasia, myasthenia gravis (MG), and ectopic thymic cysts/tissues are relatively more frequent among these ones, thymectomy is commonly performed during congenital cardiac surgery and for thymoma.
