Abstract: Background: Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is regarded amongst as a common conditions resulting in visual impairment in elderly. Age and gender are unmodifiable risk factors for AMD, obesity, smoking, and hyperlipidemia are known to be modifiable culprits.
