“…Elsayed et al and Passarelli et al 21,22 reported a significant increase in the KSS in both the BG and NF group compared with the preoperative score; however, no significant difference was observed in the BG or NF group, which suggests that bone grafting does not affect the postoperative function of the knee joint following OWHTO. In addition, Zorzi et al's study 18 showed no statistically significant difference in the meantime to clinical bone union between the BG ( 15,16 also showed no difference in time to clinical or radiologic union between the groups.…”

“…In the NF group, one knee exhibited screw penetration in the posterolateral portion of the knee joint and the other two knees exhibited local irritation that required the removal of the implanted hardware. In Elsayed et al's study, 21 five patients (two in the BG group and three in the NF group) exited bone resorption around the metal; five patients (three in the BG group and two in the NF group) had superficial infections; ten patients (six in the BG group and four in the NF group) developed hematomata; and four patients (three in the BG group and one in the NF group) developed deep venous thrombi. In Zorzi et al's study, 18 the most frequent complication was hematoma, which occurred in two patients in the BG group (8.7%) and in four patients in the NF group (17.4%).…”
