When it is difficult to discriminate the onset or offset of the behavior or the behavior occurs at high rates such that instances of the behavior cannot be counted accurately (e.g., high-frequency tics or stereotypic behavior), a behavior sampling procedure (i.e., interval or time-sample recording; see below) is a more appropriate recording procedure.…”
