Time-domain analysis of the pulsed EM field in planarly layered configurations: Principles and software implementation

Abstract

The principles and the software implementation of the time-domain (TD) analysis of the pulsed electromagnetic (EM) eld signal transfer in planarly layered con gurations are discussed. A key instrument in this framework is the CagniardDeHoop method that allows performing the spectral to TD transformation via inspection. The abilities and strength of this approach are illustrated by means of suitably selected numerical examples. Also, some important implementation aspects that are seldom, if at all, described in the literature are provided.
