Abstract:This thesis focuses on the time-related performance objectives in supervisor synthesis of discrete event systems (DES). With this purpose in mind, we exploit the finite-state timed-weighted automaton as the modeling formalism. First, we present the concept of throughput to evaluate the time-performance of systems with cyclic behaviors. We formulate the supervisory synthesis problem ensuring both logiccorrectness and optimal throughput. After showing the existence of the supremal controllable sublanguage with m… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
