TIPS‐Tetracene‐ and TIPS‐Pentacene‐Annulated Poly(norbornadiene)s: Synthesis and Properties

Abstract: Front Cover: The properties of elastomers are exploited to trigger wrinkling instabilities in curved shells. Each electro-spun micro-or nanofi ber consists of a soft core and a stiff outer half-shell, which are length-mismatched because of differential solvent de-swelling. The fi bers only wrinkle after attaining a well-defi ned helical shape. A simple analytical model is proposed to fi nd the curvature and wrinkle wavelength. Further details can be found in the article by Stimulus-sensing biohybrid materials … Show more

“…[Ni(COD) 2 ] (146 mg, 530 μmol, 1.25 equiv) was added to give a purple solution. 9,10‐Dibromo‐6,13‐bis(triisopropylsilylethynyl)tetracene6b ( 3 ; (300 mg, 402 μmol, 1.0 equiv) was dissolved in dry THF (10 mL) and added dropwise over 15 min. The flask was capped and stirred at room temperature for 16 h. The reaction mixture was filtered through a pad of silica and eluted with dichloromethane, before the solvent was removed under reduced pressure.…”
