Abstract:Multimetallic catalysts have emerged as a promising route to enhance catalyst performance in cyclic ester ring‐opening polymerisation (ROP), as these complexes can outperform the monometallic analogues in terms of reactivity and/or polymerisation control. Such enhancements are often attributed to “multimetallic cooperativity”, yet the origins of this cooperativity often remain unclear. Here, we report the synthesis and characterisation of two trimetallic Al‐salen complexes (L1(AlMe)3 and L1(AlEt)3), containing… Show more
Simple salts such as Zn(OBn)2 are robust and efficient initiators for lactide polymerisation, delivering poly(lactic acid) under industrially relevant conditions.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
