Abstract:The classical core entropy h core (f ) for post critically finite (PCF) polynomials f with degree d ≥ 2 is defined to be the topological entropy of f restricted to its Hubbard tree. We fully generalize this notion by a new quantity E core (f ), called the (general) core entropy of f , which is well defined for all polynomials f with degreefor all parameters c running through the Mandelbrot set M. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
