“…The formation of carbide phases (Fe 3 AlC 0.69 ) by addition of carbon to the FeAl intermetallic base, promotes selective dissolution of microstructure, reaching more positive potentials, however, the corrosion resistance and passive layer formation diminishes with the carbon addition increasing (7). In this sense, the passivity and breakage of films formed on Fe 3 Al-Cr-Mo base alloys in thiosulfate solutions with chloride was realized (8), this study showed that anodic current density decreases as polarization potential increases due the Mo addition. The increase in the potential of both corrosion and pitting, and the difference between those, shown that the increase in corrosion resistance is due to the effect of Clcontent.…”
