Abstract:Introduction: Drain placement is commonplace after many plastic surgery procedures to evacuate excess blood and fluid. Tranexamic acid (TXA) is an antifibrinolytic that has been shown to decrease bleeding and fluid production at surgical sites and can be administered orally, intravenously, and topically.
