Abstract: Introduction: To date, tubular tissue engineering relies on large, non-porous tubular scaffolds (Ø > 2 mm) for mechanical self-support, or smaller (Ø 150-500 µm) tubes within bulk hydrogels for studying renal transport phenomena.
