Topological properties of SnSe/EuS and SnTe/CaTe interfaces

Abstract: We use density functional theory calculations to study the electronic structure of epitaxial (111) interfaces of the topological crystalline insulators SnSe and SnTe with the magnetic insulator EuS and the non-magnetic insulator CaTe, respectively. We consider both interface slab models with a vacuum region and periodic heterostructures without vacuum. We find that gaps of 21 meV at the Γ point and 9 meV at the M point arise in the topological state at the SnSe/EuS interface, due to the magnetic proximity effe… Show more

“…The derivatives of the occupation with respect to the potential give the non-interacting and interacting response matrices, used in Eq. 2 to calculate U eff (see also Yang et al 62 ). To avoid interactions between periodic images of the perturbed atom, a 3 × 3 × 3 super-cell was constructed.…”

“…Our overall evaluation seeks to prove three hypotheses: (1) that active networks have actually shown degraded response time over time; (2) that web browsers have actually shown amplified 10th-percentile power over time; and finally (3) that seek time is a bad way to measure block size. Unlike other authors, we have intentionally neglected to visualize mean complexity [39,38,36,37] cite:10002,cite:10003,cite:10004,cite:10006. Our evaluation holds suprising results for patient reader.…”

“…In this paper, we fixed all of the obstacles inherent in the related work. Clearly, despite substantial work in this area, our approach is evidently the framework of choice among security experts [14,39,38,36,37]. This solution is even more expensive than ours.…”

“…At the same time, much less attention was paid to interfaces formed by different TI classes like topological insulator and topological crystalline insulator (TCI). TCI-based interfaces can demonstrate intriguing phenomena due to possible coexisting different Dirac cones and significantly expand the striking properties of the respective components, or improve technically significant characteristics of each other [ 28 , 29 ]. As an example, in Ref.…”
