This paper is concerned with the linear theory of microstretch elastic solids. We study the deformation of a chiral cylinder subjected to body loads, to traction on the lateral surface and to resultant forces and moments on the ends. The body loads and the surface loading are assumed to be independent of the axial coordinate. The solution is reduced to solving some plane problems. The results are used to study the deformation of a circular cylinder subjected to a uniform pressure acting on the lateral surface.
