a a Michael Cooper holds an Honours Science Degree and Diploma in Education from the University of Melbourne. Over a twenty-five year period, he has worked as a secondary teacher and co-ordinator, university tutor, palaeontologist, and museum curator. Aged forty-seven, given his passion for literature and commitment to the role oflibraries in providing for the informational, educational and recreationalneeds of the communities they serve, he returned to full-time study in 1995, successfully completing Monash University's Graduate Diploma in Librarianship and Information Studies. Michael is hoping to continue his career in either an academic or public library.
