“…They are echoed by the previously DFT-calculated natural atomic orbital (NAO) charge of Au, −0.81, on the model [Au@Cu 12 (S 2 CNH 2 ) 6 (CCH) 4 ] + . They are, however, lower than those reported for the alleged Au(0) clusters Au 2 Cu 6 (PPh 2 Py) 2 (SC 10 H 15 ) 6 (84.29 eV) and Au 15.37 Cu 16.63 (S-Adm) 20 (84.30 eV) reported by Zhu et al ,, …”

“…S11 61 which might due to the more stable electronic structure of the shell closed superatomic clusters. 63,64 Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy 65 was then used to study the magnetic properties of [Au 18 Cu 32 (SR-F) 36 ] 3− and [Au 18 Cu 32 (SR-F) 36 ] 2− nanoclusters. As shown in Fig.…”

“…Bimetallic NCs often show unique properties compared to homo‐metallic ones owing to the synergy between constituent metals and the modified electronic structure [2–5] . There have been reports of incorporating different heterometals into gold NCs [3, 6–10] . These bimetallic NCs are also applied in bio‐sensing and catalysis with significantly enhanced functionalities [2, 11–17] …”

“…[2][3][4][5] There have been reports of incorporating different heterometals into gold NCs. [3,[6][7][8][9][10] These bimetallic NCs are also applied in bio-sensing and catalysis with significantly enhanced functionalities. [2,[11][12][13][14][15][16][17] In thiolate-protected gold-based bimetallic NCs, a general trend of the distribution of metal elements is that the surface is typically composed of the less noble metal with low valence state, such as Ag I and Cu I , resembling Au I in homo gold NCs.…”
