Abstract: Recent empirical studies, such as , have documented that, in recent years, small 'tourism economies' have grown significantly faster than non-tourism ones and their income level is above the average for small economies. Moreover, during the last 20 years, the growth performance of tourism economies has been better than the average of the OECD countries.
