Abstract: Wallis and Futuna officially became a 'Sub-National Island Jurisdiction' (known as French Overseas Territory/Collectivity) in 1961 and has since adopted an economic and political structure consistent with the MIgration, Remittances, Aid, and Bureaucracy (MIRAB) model.
