Toward a sustainable mitigation approach of energy efficiency to greenhouse gas emissions in the European countries

Abstract: The efficient use of energy contributes to less energy consumption and the reduction of greenhouse gases released to nature, thus improving environmental sustainability. For this reason, many countries pioneered by the developed nations are trying to develop policies for energy efficiency. In this context, the relationship between energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions was tested by panel co-integration, panel causality, and FMOLS and DOLS analysis. Given that the study used the datasets of 29 European… Show more

“…Greenhouse Gas Emissions ( 13) is significantly affected by Energy Consumption ( 1 ) and Energy Intensity ( 3 ) apart from the indicators discussed earlier in this section. Therefore, reducing energy consumption and improving energy efficiency are considered as important parameter (Joung et al 2013;Nulkar 2014;Bekun et al 2019;Mavi and Mavi 2019;Akdag and Yıldırım 2020) for diminishing greenhouse gas emission and enhancing environmental performance in lock manufacturing.…”

“…The emission of greenhouse gases (GHGs) is a major cause of global climate change. Although vehicles provide great contributions to the development of social and economic systems, they are mainly responsible for emitting GHGs and air pollution, owing to the power provided by the burning of fossil fuels [1]. Therefore, vehicle industries worldwide are turning to fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) [2].…”

“…[1][2][3][4] In particular, carbon dioxide as an important air pollutant is largely originated from fossil fuels and plays important constitutes of total greenhouse gas in the world. 4,5 Without any additional efforts to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) by governments, greenhouse gas emissions is predicted to rise by 52% till 2050. 4,6 It is expected to increase Earth's average surface temperature about 1.1 C to 6.4 C by end of 2100, causing irreversible impacts on environment and ecosystem and severe damage on human health.…”
