The potential of using the metaverse as a contemporary digital educational environment for social learning presents a current pedagogical challenge. Considering that social learning presents a powerful model for acquiring new knowledge and skills, it is valid to observe it as an effective complement topromoting learning and development in various contexts. Given the limited empirical evidence on social learning effects in the metaverse environment, this study aimed to examine the impact of students' activities in this digital environment on their perception of the learning platform and learning outcomes. The results indicate that the pedagogical component played a significant role in students' intention to use the metaverse, but that technology did not. The study also revealed that students who participated in online activities achieved significantly better results in specific areas of computer graphics programming. The research emphasizes the need for deepening the understanding of complex social learning and adapting pedagogy for learning in the metaverse, especially the characteristics that would support collective intelligence.

The Internet of Things (IoT) and the metaverse are two rapidly evolving technologies that have the potential to shape the future of our digital world. IoT refers to the network of physical devices, vehicles, buildings, and other objects that are connected to the internet and capable of collecting and sharing data. The metaverse, on the other hand, is a virtual world where users can interact with each other and digital objects in real time. In this research paper, we aim to explore the intersection of the IoT and metaverse and the opportunities and challenges that arise from their convergence. We will examine how IoT devices can be integrated into the metaverse to create new and immersive experiences for users. We will also analyse the potential use cases and applications of this technology in various industries such as healthcare, education, and entertainment. Additionally, we will discuss the privacy, security, and ethical concerns that arise from the use of IoT devices in the metaverse. A survey is conducted through a combination of a literature review and a case study analysis. This review will provide insights into the potential impact of IoT and metaverse on society and inform the development of future technologies in this field.

Digital assets have boomed over the past few years with the emergence of Non-fungible Tokens (NFTs). To be specific, the total trading volume of digital assets reached an astounding $55.5 billion in 2022. Nevertheless, numerous security concerns have been raised by the rapid expansion of the NFT ecosystem. NFT holders are exposed to a plethora of scams and traps, putting their digital assets at risk of being lost. However, academic research on NFT security is scarce, and the security issues have aroused rare attention. In this study, the NFT ecological process is comprehensively explored. This process falls into five different stages encompassing the entire lifecycle of NFTs. Subsequently, the security issues regarding the respective stage are elaborated and analyzed in depth. A matrix model is proposed as a novel contribution to the categorization of NFT security issues. Diverse data are collected from social networks, the Ethereum blockchain, and NFT markets to substantiate our claims regarding the severity of security concerns in the NFT ecosystem. From this comprehensive dataset, nine key NFT security issues are identified from the matrix model and then subjected to qualitative and quantitative analysis. This study aims to shed light on the severity of NFT ecosystem security issues. The findings stress the need for increased attention and proactive measures to safeguard the NFT ecosystem.
