This paper presents a comprehensive Tag set as a fundamental component for developing an automated Word Class/Part-of-Speech (PoS) tagging system for the Arabic language. The aim is to develop a standard and comprehensive PoS tag set that based upon PoS classes and Arabic inflectional morphology useful for Linguistics and Natural Language Processing (NLP) developers to extract more linguistic information from it. The tag names in the developed tag set uses terminology from Arabic tradition grammar rather than English grammar. The usability of the presented Tag set has been tested in manual tagging and built up a set of tagged text to serve as a goal corpus used to compare it with the results obtained from the tagger. The tagger has achieved an average accuracy of 90% using the developed detailed tag set.

This paper defines a Standard Arabic Profiling (SAP) toolset that helps researchers for textual analysis and comparing between different Arabic corpora. Since tools for Arabic language are needed, we present the SAP toolset to simplify the textual analysis process. The approach consists of three profilers: The Part of Speech (POS) profiler that gives statistical analysis for a given document, vocabulary profiler which provides user with an indication out the vocabulary used in a document with reference to Open Source Arabic Corpus (OSAC) of two news agencies (CNN and BBC). The process is accomplished by computing similarity between documents and corpus using Log likelihood measure. Lastly the newly added profiler is the Readability profiler which is used to 1) assess the readability level for a document according to Flesch Reading Ease Readability Formula, and 2) measure the simplicity and ambiguity levels of the document. We described the current part-of-speech for this toolset and how we can extend its functionality to embrace vocabulary and readability profiling.Index Terms-Arabic natural language processing, part-of-speech tagging (POST), text analysis, software.

Gamification is a novel IT development that focuses on how to address the use of games and apply game design techniques in a nongaming context. Recently, it has significantly attracted several researchers' attention concerned with different fields such as education, business, and information retrieval, among other fields. Most Natural Language Processing (NLP) applications use large accurately labelled data sets to achieve good performance, but these data sets are hard to obtain. The standard method to produce labelled data has been through manual labour that demands a strong engagement and a heavy financial participation. For these reasons, gamification may offer smooth possibilities for wide improvements in this field. However, gamification by itself may not yield the widelyexpected results if the incentives are not strong motivators. Further, based on a previous experience, we strongly believe that even financial incentives are not enough for the participants to increase their contributions. Therefore, we could incentivise the participants, through gamification, and through their need for language acquisition. Thus, languagebased games are adopted in this project as a direct incentive and a stronger engagement to ensure the benefits for both NLP practitioners and the language learners. In this paper, we present the first Arabic project that targets all the means to promote and explore the possibilities for research and practical applications of using games and gamification for Arabic NLP. Here, we shed light over the advantages of using a gamified approach in corpus annotation, named entity recognition, and word sense disambiguation.
