Towards an intelligence based conceptual framework for e-maintenance

Abstract: Since the time when concept of e-maintenance was introduced, most of the works insisted on the relevance of the underlying Information and Communication Technologies infrastructure. Through a review of current e-maintenance conceptual approaches and realizations, this paper aims to reconsider the predominance of ICT within e-maintenance projects and literature. The review brings to light the importance of intelligence as a fundamental dimension of e-maintenance that is to be led in a holistic predefined manner… Show more

“…In a previous paper [30], we retained CogAff architecture as the main candidate to stand such a proposal for the design of e-maintenance system as an intelligent system. The proposed frame labeled E-Cogaff is depicted in Figure 1 and the rest of this section gives details of the frame with illustrative indications from the e-maintenance case.…”

“…Por otro lado, se atribuye el surgimiento del mantenimiento electrónico a dos factores principales que son: las tecnologías electrónicas, que permiten la optimización del flujo de trabajo relacionado con el mantenimiento, la integración del rendimiento empresarial, el tratamiento, la integración y la colaboración con los demás servicios de la empresa [5].…”

“…E-Maintenance has emerged from the fusion of maintenance practice with information and communication (Liyanage, Lee, Emmanouilidis, & Ni, 2009).Currently, a wide range of systems, from shop-floor sensing platforms to executive decision support tools have established their role and added value in scaling maintenance performance and tuning the optimization of its background economy (Mouzoune & Taibi, 2013, 2014). E-Maintenance initially focused on technology integration efforts.…”
