Towards microbial safety of fresh vegetables in Rwanda

Abstract: In this study, we tested farm vegetables and agricultural water for the presence of foodborne pathogens, and evaluated farming practices of vegetable farms in Rwanda. Farm vegetable samples were found to be contaminated with food borne pathogens at considerably high rate (overall 15/99=15%).
