Abstract:Background
Alongside affective episodes, cognitive dysfunction is a core symptom of bipolar disorder. The intracellular parasite Toxoplasma gondii has been positively associated with both a diagnosis of bipolar disorder as well as poorer cognitive performance, across diagnostic boundaries.
Methods
