A method for the direct determination of trace elements at concentrations as low as subppm and ppm levels in a ZrO 2 matrix has been developed by direct current (D.C.) arc carrier distillation, employing a charge coupled device (CCD)-based spectrometer using a 5% carrier combination of AgCl-SrF 2 (4:1).
