Traffic Routing Optimization using Ant Colony Optimization

Abstract: Traffic congestion is one of the main problems in traffic system and it occurs on most cities around the world. This project focuses on solving recurring congestion that occurs in area around Kuala Terengganu city. Traffic routing can be implemented to reduce traffic congestion by finding the best path for a vehicle. Ant Colony Optimization algorithm is applied to optimize traffic routing in this project. Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) takes inspiration from the foraging behavior of some ant species and these a… Show more

“…Thus, in this article, aspects related to the routing analyzes of some freight transport vehicles will be highlighted in which the impact on the environment is treated. Starting from the aspect related to the analysis of problems for classical routing methods, heuristic algorithms but also standard algorithms such as the bee swarm, the ant colony algorithm, or parallel searches through heuristic methods [ 23 , 24 ]. The main goal tends to lead us towards finding an optimal way to cover a distance and smooth out the traffic, taking into account the transport costs, the social impact, and aspects regarding the clearance times or the rate of delays.…”

“…Solar PV modeling is usually performed using analogous diode models that explain the relationships between current-voltage (I-V) across a broad wide range of climatic conditions. Two different types of diode models are widely used to describe the I-V properties of solar PVs: (a) single diode model, (b) double diode model [2][3][4]. At the one side, the single diode model is very simple in simulation, and several researchers have tested its precision by analyzing and testing its five unidentified parameters.…”

“…Most of the equation values are not shown in the manufacturer datasheet. This method is still not considered to be precise [4]. The numeric extraction strategy is focused on the fitting of the curves.…”
