Traffic Service Position System No. 1: Station Signaling and Announcement Subsystem: Hardware for Automated Coin Toll Service

Abstract: A new subsystem, Station Signaling and Announcement Subsystem (ssas), was added to tsps to provide automated coin toll service. Presented here are descriptions of how this new subsystem generates announcements from digitally stored speech samples, how it responds to coin deposit signals from coin stations, how the announcement circuits and coin tone detection circuits are automatically tested, and how the subsystem is physically packaged.
