Abstract: Cellular senescence and the associated secretory phenotype (SASP) promote cancer in the aging population. During aging or upon chemotherapy exposure, cellular and molecular changes occur in non-cancerous cells and alter responses to cancer therapy, primarily via modifications in the tumor microenvironment (TME) and immune response.
