Abstract:Tranexamic acid (TXA), a synthetic antifibrinolytic drug, has proven efficacy and is recommended for major pediatric surgery to decrease perioperative blood loss. Accumulating evidence suggests that TXA reduces bleeding and transfusion in a variety of adult neurosurgical settings.
