Transcription factor genes involved in plant response to abiotic stress factors

Abstract: Hypothermia, drought, salinity and heavy metals are the most widespread stress factors negatively affecting plant growth and development. Plants respond to these stress factors on molecular, cellular, and physiological levels through the complicated mechanisms of signal perception and transduction, subsequently inducing various defense mechanisms. Transcription factors controlling the expression of numerous defense proteins are the most significant abiotic stress reaction regulators. Mainly, the negative envir… Show more

“…Gene expression changes are usually the first response to stress situations in plants [ 178 ]. Among these stress-reactive genes, those that encode transcription factors (TFs) have a significant role in adjusting the plant reaction to the stress situation [ 179 ]. Dehydratation-Responsive Element Binding Factors ( DREBs ) control the expression of some target genes induced by cold and drought stress [ 180 ].…”

Известно, что избыточная экспрессия генов кластера CBF увеличивает морозостойкость у многих растений, среди которых A. thaliana, табак, томат, тополь, картофель, эвкалипт, яблоня и другие (Stockinger et al, 1997;Thomashow, 1999;Hsieh et al, 2002;Fowler, Thomashow, 2002;Benedict et al, 2006;Chinnusamy et al, 2007;Pino et al, 2008;Wisniewski et al, 2011;Navarro et al, 2011;Medina et al, 2011).…”

“…Молекулярно-генетические механизмы ответа растений на воздействия низких температур изучены у пшеницы, риса, яблони и других растений (Zaikina et al 2019). Так, в исследовании, выполненном на модельном растении A. thaliana было показано, что основным ответом на низкотемпературный стресс является активация экспрессии генов регулона CBF/DREB1 (Dehydration Responsive Elements-Binding proteins).…”

“…To adapt to adverse environments, plants have evolved intricate mechanisms spanning from physiological to molecular levels. Transcription factors (TFs), including AP2/ERF (APETALA2/ethylene responsive factor), MYB (v-Myb myeloblastosis viral oncogene homolog), NAC (NAM, ATAF, and CUC), WRKY, Bhlh (basic helix-loop-helix), zinc finger proteins, and ZIP (basic leucine zipper), play a pivotal role in plant stress responses at the molecular level [1,2]. The NAC transcription factors, a distinctive class among plant TFs, are assumed to be involved in regulating abiotic stress responses like low temperature, drought, and salinity [3,4].…”
