Abstract:The ovarian surface epithelium (OSE) is a monolayer of epithelial cells covering the surface of the ovary. During ovulation, the OSE is ruptured to allow release of the oocyte. This wound is quickly repaired, but mechanisms of this repair are poorly understood.
