Transcriptome analysis of a newly established mouse model of Toxoplasma gondii pneumonia

Abstract: Background Toxoplasmosis is a zoonotic parasitic disease caused by Toxoplasma gondii. Toxoplasma gondii infection of the lungs can lead to severe pneumonia. However, few studies have reported Toxoplasma pneumonia. Most reports were clinical cases due to the lack of a good disease model. Therefore, the molecular mechanisms, development, and pathological damage of Toxoplasma pneumonia remain unclear. Methods A mouse model of Toxoplasma pneumonia was … Show more

“…In the eld of parasitology, transcriptomics has become an important tool [32][33][34]. Differential transcriptomics, as a crucial branch of transcriptomics, provides a new perspective and method for us to gain a deeper understanding of the biological characteristics, parasitic mechanisms, and interactions with the host in parasites.…”

“…Among them, transcriptomics is a powerful tool for uncovering regulatory mechanisms and the interaction between parasites and hosts during parasitic infections [31]. Transcriptomic analysis helps us better understand the molecular mechanisms of diseases and has become a research hotspot in the eld of parasitology [32][33][34]. In recent years, researchers have extensively utilized transcriptomic technologies to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying parasite infections in hosts.…”
